Somalia Nutrition Consortium MEAL Manager

The role
The Nutrition Consortium Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) manager takes the overall responsibility for ensuring quality Monitoring Evaluation and Accountability and Learning in the wide Nutrition Consortium programme. The main purpose of this role is to bring together programme learning, innovations, research-based evidence and information for improvement in the development and implementation of nutrition programs in Somalia.
S/he will closely liaise with all the Nutrition Consortium partner organisations to ensure timely data collection, management and use of data for decision making and learning within and outside the Consortium.

Qualifications and experience
* Advanced degree in project management or related discipline * Recommended a minimum of five years of experience working in MEAL roles including in a senior management position in a both emergency and development contexts, preferably with solid experience in health, nutrition and emergencies * Experience of working on all elements of MEAL including designing, rolling out and managing systems * Sound knowledge of international quality standards (Red Cross Code of Conduct, Sphere Standard, HAP Standard) and proven experience of using these standards in practical ways to promote quality and accountable programming * Proven success in managing a team and dedication to staff development * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to operate as part of a team in a multi-cultural, values driven work environment * Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning processes * Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
This role will be offered as a 24 months fixed term with possibility of extension.
