DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS

The Deputy Director of Logistics - Supply Chain (DDL-SC) will be accountable for the development and delivery of supply chain strategy for Save the Children International South Sudan program (SCISS), and for increasing the impact of SCI's programmes through effective and optimised supply chain models, which can deliver on needs in varying contexts across multiple field offices.

This position will also involve deputising for the Director of Logistics, and travelling 30% to 50% of the time in order to deliver on the demands of this position.

Qualifications and experience
* Masters in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or similar level qualification.
* Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent
* Extensive experience in successful development and implementation of a logistics and supply chain strategy and infrastructure for a global operation.
* Demonstrable experience in international sourcing and contract management, including an ability to review demands and trends, and to develop strategies to fill identified gaps.
* Experience streamlining and automating procurement processes, including refining processes, developing user-friendly manuals and training programs, and assessing, selecting, and deploying suitable procurement software where applicable and necessary.
* Field level experience in managing complex supply chains for INGOs in international development and emergency programmes.
* Deep understanding and interpretation of Incoterms as well as their application in the context of overseas procurement in South Sudan.
* Knowledge of key institutional donors and their compliance requirements in respect of logistics and procurement.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
* Solid project management skills related to organisational development projects.
* Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
* Solid programmatic, organizational, planning, technical and IT skills (including databases), with a proven ability to work under pressure and solve problems in a fast paced environment;
* Dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
* Commitment to Save the Children values.
* Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods of time.
* Experience in working in post conflict environment is essential
* Experience in working in South Sudan is an advantage
