Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

PROGRAM SUMMARY
International Medical Corps has been providing emergency medical, nutritional as well protection assistance to Sudanese refugees and local host conflict affected people in Haute-Kotto and Vakaga region since 2007. While providing basic primary health care services to the beneficiaries, International Medical Corps also focuses on capacity building of existing human resources, in order to deliver and take ownership of health, nutrition and protection programs implemented by International Medical Corps, thus assuring the sustainability of the health program for the coming years.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and treatment in emergency primary health care through mobile clinics
• Monitor and supervise health care delivery by local counterparts
• Ensure that patients have up to date patient cards and are accurately registered and recorded for reporting and case management.
• Assist nutritionist in nutritional screening and feeding activities
• Will supervise the nursing assistants and follow up performance of tasks of all national staff
• Assist the medical doctor in the setting up and running the maternal and child health routine activities
• Regularly update medical coordinator and program manager on drugs / medical supplies and ensure that medical orders are timely done
• Monitor drug and medical supply stocks through monthly consumption and inventories, noting drugs and material expiring dates and submit the same to the medical coordinator in time
• In collaboration with the medical coordinator will arrange for regular trainings and clinic staff meetings as required
• Supervise the running of the pharmacy and ensure rational use of drugs as per the guidelines and laid down by the medical coordinator
• Perform outreach activities as may be required.
• Ensure that service statistics and all the required reports are properly collected from each department and submitted timely to the immediate supervisor
• Participate in emergency preparedness, rapid assessments and eventual emergency responses in collaboration with the entire team

Qualifications:
• Minimum clinical nursing degree; preferably with a Master’s in Public Health.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required, of which 1 year should be of developing country experience or resource deprived environment.
• Previous NGO experience.
• Must be able to speak French and English fluently
• Will have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
• Will have excellent self-motivation skills and be able to work independently
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
• Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
• Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively.
• Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
