International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian,

By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance. PROGRAM BACKGROUND In response to the USAID-funded Food For Peace/Title II Development Food Assistance Program (DFAP) (formerly Multi-Year Assistance Program, or MYAP) for Zimbabwe, International Medical Corps is seeking qualified applicants with experience working with Food For Peace/Title II projects. JOB SUMMARY Responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations and financial management functions in field offices. Ensure that activities are performed in accordance with IMC policy and procedures and donor regulations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that all chargers to donor grants are in compliance with donor requirements and IMC policy. This responsibility extends to thorough understanding and application of specific donor rules and regulations and compliance to donors grant requirements. Ensure that monthly financial data is entered in ACPACC in time / and finalization and submission of monthly report in a timely manner, following IMC internal deadlines, ensure accounting entries correspond to backup voucher before exporting from ACPACC. Maintain accurate records of expenditures from the field and headquarters in order to monitor financial status of all project activities. Maintains IMC’s system of accounts ensuring all accounting data are updated, reconciled and fully supported. Supervise all cash custodians and Finance staff in main office and field sites; is responsible for cash and bank management Coordinate with site managers/cash custodian necessary cash flow requirements and ensure appropriate cash amounts are sent to site offices, control cash kept in safe and implement proper cash safety procedures. Ensure that all balance sheet items are duly cleared; report on irregularities Prepare and submit timely donor financial reports and any Government report (VAT) Provide necessary trainings of finance staff and provide technical support to country program and logistics To periodically review the grant files updated with budgets, grant contracts and agreements and ensure adherence to donor and audit requirements. Approving National staff payroll and all statutory deductions Working with Internal and External auditors for smooth audit process and responding to audit queries. Supervising scanning, reviewing and making sure is sent to HQ in time as per deadline. Submitting regular country cash flow projections to HQ Other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor. |

• Ability to devise, analyze and implement accounting procedures in a systems environment in conformance with GAAP; • Outstanding organizational skills; • Ability to follow-through on assigned tasks; • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; • Excellent self-motivation skills; • Experience in effectively dealing with international and headquarters staff. The ability to deal with abroad spectrum of people; • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently; • Excellent ability to handle multiple tasks and many administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment; • PC literate, excellent word processing skills. Proficient in Excel, Word, and other general experience with software programs; • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations; • Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources. |
