Job Description
IBTCI is seeking an Economic Growth Subject Matter Expert to
participate in an evaluation of an economic growth program on behalf of
USAID/Somalia. The ideal candidate should have experience providing technical
assistance to programs focusing on economic growth, including areas such as:
micro-finance, employment generation, commercial credit, business association
activities, pastoral livestock production and marketing, and natural resource
management. Additionally, candidates should have expertise participating in
Monitoring & Evaluation assignments, preferably in complex environments.
This position will require short-term travel to Kenya, Somaliland and Puntland.
Responsibilities:
The SME will assist the Team Leader in the design and implementation
of the evaluation. He/she will be tasked with ensuring that deliverables are
produced on time and are of high quality.
Desired qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience in economic growth programming, with expertise in several of the technical areas described above
- Experience participating in evaluations and/or assessments
- Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Advanced degree in relevant field
- Fluency in English
- Experience in East Africa is desirable
