Chief of Party - Ghana


Chemonics seeks a chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded project to increase food security and improve nutrition and health in West Africa. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.


Responsibilities include:
  • Provide overall leadership, management, and general technical direction of the project, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors and a focus on achieving results
  • Identify issues and risks related to implementation and adjust project accordingly
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with USAID, government officials, partner organizations, and other stakeholders 
  • Coordinate multiple partners with multiple interests and goals
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, public health, livelihoods, gender, or related field and minimum 15 years of experience required; master's degree and minimum 10 years of experience preferred
  • Minimum seven years of living or working in developing countries required
  • Minimum five years of experience in a leadership role on USAID or other donor-funded nutrition, maternal and child health, gender, or livelihoods projects required 
  • Minimum two years of senior-level experience on projects addressing gender-related constraints in the agriculture or nutrition sector required
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated nutrition and food security programs preferred
  • Experience working directly with host-country governments, especially at decentralized levels, in: 
    • Agriculture
      • Agricultural livelihoods
      • Nutrition
      • Hygiene and sanitation
      • Local capacity development
      • Systems strengthening
      • Management
      • Financial systems
      • ​Gender
      • Staple foods and livestock production and value chain development​
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
