Plan has been operating in Mali and Burkina Faso since
1976, and in Niger since 1998. In response to the conflict in the North
of Mali and the Sahel as such, Plan has engaged in emergency response
programming with conflict affected populations, including refugees and IDPs,
with a primary focus on Child Protection and Education in Emergencies
(including WASH in Schools). Emergency response teams have been established in
Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso to operate in coordination with Plan’s community
development programmes.
The Role:
We are looking for a proven development professional to
coordinate the implementation of the two grants (GFFO and IrishAid) under the
Sahel Response programme in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. Adept at
engaging and building relations with key stakeholders you will be responsible
for donor reporting, providing compliance guidance to the project teams,
compilation and preparation of the financial and narrative report and
in-country donor and stakeholder liaison. You will also support country
resource mobilization teams as well as the relevant Plan National Offices on
securing funds for the programme follow up and/or extension.
Candidates with immediate availability will be
prioritized.
About You:
A development professional, fluent in both French and English,
you will be able to demonstrate proven experience of coordination and/or
implementation of development and/or humanitarian programmes/projects funded
through international donors (i.e. GFFO, Irish Aid, ECHO, USAID, DFID etc.) at
country and field level. Familiar with coordinating programmes in line
with key international humanitarian standards, you will have excellent
knowledge and understanding of INEE and CPIE minimum standards, SPHERE, Red
Cross/NGO Code of Conduct and other relevant international standards for
humanitarian response. Previous experience working in the Sahel region is
desirable. With proven ability at networking and representation you will
have demonstrable experience of organisational representation and engagement
with humanitarian donors. The role requires competencies in general
finance, administration, information management and telecommunication skills
and proficiency in IT/computer skills (including sound MS excel and word
proficiency).

Salary: US$50,000 to $60,000. This is a
mandatory unaccompanied position and a full expat package will be available.
Proposed start-date: May 2014.
