Position Summary
We seek an exceptional candidate to serve as our Knowledge
Management (KM) Specialist to support our documentation and enhance our
knowledge sharing skills. This includes the planning, implementation, and
documentation of individual and organizational activities, with a focus on
gender. The position will be based in Addis Ababa. The KM Specialist will
work with key in-country partners including government officials from the
Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), the National Planning Commission/Population
Development Directorate (NPC/PDD), the Federal Ministry of Women, Children, and
Youth Affairs (MOWCYA) and other Ministries as well as multi-sectoral
representatives at all levels and Amhara regional partners, including the
Regional Health Bureau, Regional BOFED, Regional BoWCYA and Amhara Women’s
Association (AWA) to provide support to the programme’s gender, M&E,
knowledge management as well as operations research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take
the lead in developing a communications plan, including details of how HPP
will work the documentation and dissemination of communication and
knowledge management products, and lessons learnt
- Consult
with the Country Director and technical advisors in design,
implementation, and documentation of gender-focused project activities and
gender-related components of projects
- Support
policy publications and other material as agreed with key partners
- Provide
support in M&E based reporting of program results and best practices
including the submission of Progress Reports
- Liaise
with donors, the government, and other key stakeholders
- Tailor
and apply gender assessment tools, training materials, and capacity
strengthening plans, as required by project activities
- Actively
participate in the development of annual work planning and presentations
related to project activities
- Perform
other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Country
Director
Qualifications
- A
Master's Degree or higher in a relevant Social Science discipline
- Experience
with USAID field and global programs, including PEPFAR, population and
RMNCH programs
- Proven
ability to work collaboratively and build consensus across diverse sets of
stakeholders
- Experience
in designing and implementing capacity building in KM/Communication
and gender related programs
- Strong
written and oral communication skills for high-level policy audiences
- Strong
sense of motivation and initiative, attention to detail, team-work, and
ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance
competing priorities
- Ability
to travel approximately 30% of time
