OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
To strengthen the technical support provided to the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and Regional Health Bureaus on the prevention and control of Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
Description of duties:
Under the overall supervision of WR Ethiopia and with close supervision of Disease Prevention and Control (DPC) Cluster Coordinator, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
 Provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in the development of proposals, work plans, budgets, and forecasting of NTD drugs, diagnostics and supplies;
 Provides support in the rollout of NTDs and the scale-up of preventive chemotherapy (PCT) NTD services;
 Supports the timely implementation, integration and smooth operation of NTD Master Plan activities, ensuring they are implemented in accordance with work plan and budget;
 Assists the FMOH in the development of a national, integrated M&E NTD database and participate in routine data management and analysis;
 Supports program monitoring and evaluation, disease mapping, routine program surveys and operational research on NTDs in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and other stakeholders;
 Supports the development/adaptation of training materials and guidelines for NTDs and Participate in the preparations and organization of Regional and District training activities, and follow up assessment of trainees and facilitators to ensure quality of training and performance;
 Builds partnerships for planning and resource mobilization for NTD program implementation by serving as a support liaison between the NTD Unit, program partners, and national and international donors and organizations; facilitate NTD meetings and events;
 Remains informed of new knowledge, information and technology relevant to NTDs and participate in the development and continual refinement of national NTD training materials and guidelines;
 Travels to regions/ zones and districts for supportive supervision and other technical assistance and
 Performs other related activities as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Medical Doctor from a recognized college or University
Skills: 
 Good group work relationship and communication skills;
 Extensive experience in health activities at the national levels with experiences in programme planning;
 Experienced in NTD or related health activities and working under difficult conditions;
 Providing leadership on issues critical to health and working with partners in joint action and coordination.

Other skills:

 Good command of Ms office software: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and use of the Internet;
 Applied skills on data management and analysis using SPSS and other relevant statistical analysis tools.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project management, Public Health related positions and Minimum of 2 years proven experience in communicable disease prevention and control programs
Languages:
 Excellent knowledge in written and spoken English and the local language(s)

 Annual remuneration: USD 16,665 Payable in ETB
