Scope of Work for Consultancy

Futures Group is seeking up to four consultants to act as independent data quality monitors for an upcoming national evaluation in Zambia. The evaluation will be conducted by Futures Group in partnership with the Institute for Economic and Social Research, University of Zambia. Specifically, the consultant will undertake the following activities:
  • Participate in the data collectors’ training to be held immediately prior to data collection in March/April 2013. The consultant will be responsible for making presentations on maintaining data quality in the field.
  • Accompany the data collection teams to the field to support and assess data quality, report any challenges to Futures Group, and offer on-site solutions to the data collection teams.

The period of performance for this consultancy is approximately March 17th to May 9th, 2014.

Person specification

  • Considerable experience working as a data collector on large surveys. DHS experience preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of how to maintain data quality in a field setting and experience with applying data quality solutions during field work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate must exhibit strong accountability and ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel throughout Zambia for a one-month data collection period (o/a April 2014)
  • Ability to converse in local languages.
