PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To assist project manager in planning, budgeting, implementations, monitoring, and evaluation of Prevention Mother To Children Transmission (PMTCT) program integration into government Maternal Child Health, HIV/AIDS services and to ensure quality of PMTCT program through coordination and collaboration with government health stakeholder especially and Ministry of Health and HIV/AIDS authorities in all level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement project activities focusing on the three keys
project objectives:
- community
primary prevention on HIV & AIDS.
- strengthening
health service provision especially PMTCT and VCCT services.
- and
improvement of care and support for HIV positive pregnant women, mothers,
and HIV-exposed infants through consultation, coordination and
collaboration with project partners in project targeted areas.
- Support
project staff and government health personnel, health centre staff, to
plan and implement project activities focusing on the above three project
objectives.
- Network
and coordinate with government health partners to ensure quality of health
service provision and support to the community people especially HIV
positive pregnant women, mothers, HIV-exposed infants, and their families.
- Assist
project staff, government health partners in capacity building, project
implementation, coordinate and support HIV positive pregnant women,
mothers, HIV-exposed infants, and their families to access relevant health
services to receive appropriate care and treatment.
- Facilitate
inter-health services networking to provide relevant responses and support
to project beneficiaries, capacity building for project health partners.
- Ensure
that community level PMTCT messages were delivered appropriately pregnant
women, their partners and women who delivered at home are referred to the
appropriate service delivery settings.
- Establish
or strengthen Community treatment based support in order to minimise lost
to follow and improve adherence to care and treatment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required:
- A
University Degree in Health from recognised Institution or related Social
Science or other discipline coupled with years of experience in PMTCT
related program.
- Or a
Diploma/ Degree in Nursing (General, Psychiatry, Midwifery, Community
Health).
- With 3
years’ experience in Health program including Maternal and Child Health an
HIV & AIDS prevention, care, and treatment especially PMTCT program.
- Experience
in coordination, networking with government staffs and other stakeholder;
especially, facilitation in training or workshop.
- Basic
competency in program implementation and coordination. Abilities to build
strong personal and organizational relationship with all internal and
external staff and contacts; derive for result, innovative, detail
oriented, able to handle multiple tasks at a time, able to handle
challenging situations and willing to travel frequently.
- Computer
skills Email, Word, Excel, Power Point Numerical skills Read and interpret
basic graphs and tables, ability to calculate and interpret percentages
Competencies.
- Detail
oriented kills, Planning and organising skills.
- Team
player and ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- University
Degree preferably in Health.
