It’s hard to believe that today 768 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.5 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill 2,000 children every day.
WaterAid in Ethiopia is looking to fill the vacancies below for the Toke Kutaye Woreda WASH Program. (Fixed Term Contracts) The roles are all based in Guder, Babich town, Toke Kutaye, Oromiya.
Cashier
The Cashier is responsible for preparing all payment vouchers. They verify all source documents for proper approval and documentation and support the financial function of WaterAid Ethiopia in all aspects of financial control. The Cashier will be responsible for managing petty cash and medical funds and for store management of WaterAid Ethiopia.
To be successful, you will need to have a technical school Diploma in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field and good spoken and written communication skills in Oromiffa.

Driver/Purchaser
The main purpose of the role is to provide efficient driving and purchasing services to Tokke kutaye Woreda WASH program, to enable the organisation achieves its objectives.
You will need to have a secondary education, hold a third grade driving license and have three years’ driving experience. You will need good spoken and written communication skills in English and Oromiffa.

Environmental Health Officer
The main purpose of the job is to provide quality support to the implementation of WAE’s WASH work in line with priorities identified in the Woreda and Town development plans and priorities by linking with WAE’s country strategy. The position is expected to provide technical advice and facilitation in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Tokke Kutaye district and Babich town WASH project, program and strategy.
You will need to have a BSc in Environmental Health, Public Health or related fields, with a minimum of five years of proven and progressive work experience in WASH sector, preferably in an NGO, and have good spoken and written communication skills in English and Oromifa.

Finance and Admin Officer
The Finance and Admin Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and entering all financial data in the accounting system. They will also verify all source documents for proper approval and documentation, and provide support to the financial function of WaterAid Ethiopia in all aspects of financial control and financial reporting.
In addition to providing effective and efficient logistics and transport, they will ensure that a good initial impression is maintained. The post-holder will also provide human resources (HR) support and line manage two staff.
You will need to have a BA in Accounting with a minimum of four years’ work experience or a diploma in Accounting with a minimum of six years’ experience. You must have good spoken and written English and Oromifa.

Programme Coordinator
The main purpose of the job is to facilitate and coordinate programme planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation with the local community and the Government.
You will need to be a graduate in Social Sciences, Environmental/Public Health Sciences, Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of six years’ progressive and relevant experience. You must have good spoken and written communication skill in English and Oromifa.

Water Engineer

The post-holder is expected to provide technical advice and facilitation in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Tokke Kutaye district and Babich town WASH project, programme and strategy.
You will need to have a BSc in Hydraulic Engineering or equivalent combination of education with a minimum of five years’ proven and progressive work experience in the WASH sector, preferably in a non-governmental organisation (NGO). You must have good spoken and written communication skill in English and Oromifa.
