Regional Gender Managers


ABOUT GENDER RESOURCES:

JOB SUMMARY:
GRI is currently seeking three (3) Regional Gender Managers for an anticipated USAID-funded Agriculture and Rural Development program in South Sudan. Based in Yambio, Torit, and Yei or Juba, each Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing gender equity and women’s empowerment activities in their respective state. The Manager will report to the Senior Gender Manager in Juba. Periodic overnight travel may be required. This position in open to South Sudanese nationals only.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement all gender and women’s programs in assigned state
  • Monitor budgets, grants and expenditures
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with project staff
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual reports, work-plans, and success stories as required by client and GRI
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Program Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS in agriculture, rural development, economic development, or similar required; MA/MS/MBA preferred
  • Five (5) years experience developing and managing agricultural and rural development programs for women; 7 years preferred
  • Additional experience with food security, nutrition, climate change, access to rural finance, and agribusiness development preferred
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Prior experience working on USAID programs preferred
  • Excellent management and administrative skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all levels of staff, U.S. and foreign government personnel, members of donor organizations, funders and policy makers
  • Self-motivated and well organized
  • Ability to work collaboratively, supportively, and respectfully with others
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to difficult environments to complete program assignments
  • This position in open to South Sudanese nationals only
Pay is commensurate with position and experience.
