Project Summary:
The Egypt Civil Society Support program is designed to build
the organizational and management capacity of Egyptian civil society
organizations. Funded by USAID/Egypt’s Democracy and Governance Program and
implemented by MSI in partnership with FHI36O and IREX, the project provides
technical assistance and support to individual Egyptian CSOs and the broader
civil society to advocate for citizen interests and engage in a wide variety of
civic action.
Position Summary:
As ECSS ends support and capacity building assistance to DG
grantees, the program will begin preparing the final project report for Task 2.
Therefore, support is needed to provide writing and editing expertise as well
as assistance in collecting and synthesizing information. Additionally, the
editor would assist with other aspects of preparing the final program report
including but not limited to the creation of tables or other annexes to present
the achievements of the project.
This position is from October 1, 2013 – November 30, 2013,
for a total level of effort of 15 days.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the compilation of project activities and summaries
under Task 2 for DG grantees.
• Create tables and other annexes to present summary of ECSS
activities and achievements.
• Build capacity of staff to capture information relevant to
good reporting for the final ECSS report.
• Provide editing and writing services for English-language
final project report, as well as civil society assessment reports, monthly
grantee progress reports, monthly financial management reports, quarterly and
annual reports, and work plans.
• Other reporting tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in English or Writing from an accredited
university, additional advanced degree in a related field preferable.
• Two to four years of experience writing, editing and
formatting USAID reports.
• Fluent English language writing and editing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to
lead and work effectively in team situations, particularly multi-cultural
teams.
