International
organization currently seeking staff for an agricultural value chain project in
Tanzania. The project's primary objective is to increase rice and maize
Productivity and competitiveness. To this end, technical components will focus
on improved farming techniques and best practices, improved farm management,
strengthened market linkages and competitiveness, trade facilitation and
regulatory reform, value chain development for vulnerable groups, and other
activities that promote increased food security.
Technical and
Administrative Positions Available:
We are currently
seeking applicants for the following long term positions. Unless otherwise
noted, all positions will likely be based in Morogoro or other project field
offices. Please include a 2-4 page writing sample to answer the question:
"What would you do to empower the
youth in Tanzania?"
Environment and
Natural Resources Specialist - Ensure
the safe use of inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, agro chemicals and other
inputs, and monitor all program activities to verify compliance with the strictest standards for
environmental safety. Prepare and conduct staff and beneficiary training programs to provide
information about the safe use and disposal of pesticides and other
agro-chemicals and ensure Protocols are being followed. Prepare regular written
reports as directed. 5-10 years of relevant experience and minimum Bachelor's
degree required; advanced degree in environment/natural resources preferred.
Communications
Assistant - Conduct frequent field
visits to project sites to gather success stories and case studies. Organize
and compile field communications materials to develop written reports, success
stories and case studies. Assist with development and delivery of internal and external communications to
stakeholders, donor, partners and other target audiences. 1-5 years in
communications role and degree in journalism or communications required.
Human Resources
Manager - Based in Dar Es Salaam or
Morogoro. Guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services,
including recruitment, selection, orientation, compensation, employee policies
and benefits. Develop processes and metrics that support the achievement of the project's
business goals. Assist and advise managers on Human Resources issues. Minimum
of 10 years HR experience in progressively more responsible role required,
including at least 5 years at management level. Experience with international
NGO preferred.
