Plan has been working in Tanzania since 1991, supporting
children and communities to gain Better access to health, education, water,
sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and protection through five Country
Programs. Plan works with children, their families, and communities to
implement programmes at grassroots level. It currently operates in seven
regions across the country, having physical offices in Mwanza, Geita, Ifakara,
Kibaha, Kisarawe and Dar es Salaam, reaching other areas through partnerships
and grants such as Sumbawanga, Nkasi, Bahi, Chamwino and Kongwa districts.
Plan Tanzania now invites applications from suitable,
qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions described below.
1. ECCD SPECIALIST (1 POSITION DSM)
Job Purpose: To
provide programmatic leadership to all of Plan's ECCD work in Tanzania. The
incumbent will provide effective capacities and technical guidance in the
design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation for the ECCD Program. He/she
will be' guided by the Programme framework. Plan's Global Child Protection Policy,
Plan's Global Gender Equality Protocol as well as related national policies and strategies. : .
Job requirements: .
Design, Implement, monitor and evaluate Early Childhood Care
and Development (ECCD) related strategies and other matters to ensure that CCCD
is embedded in programs
Provide technical assistance to all program unit staff and
their partners for implanting high quality ECCD programs.
Based on best practices and sector standards, develop high
quality programme guidance to ensure children rights are embedded in Plan's ECCD
interventions
Contribute to sector and organizational learning through
improved documentation, capturing of lessons learned and development a
monitoring framework for ECCD
Produce and disseminate briefings, reports and other ECCD
related data/information on a regular basis to show program progress and impact
Oversee ECCD budgets and expenditures to ensure their
alignment with the required standards
Support the roll out of training to all staff and partners
including parents (moral duty bearers) and principle duty bearers on better
child rearing practices (nutrition, family planning, social and emotional care
for children including children with special needs)
Establish a close network with the government and other
national and international organizations in the sector and contribute to
national policy and advocacy work related to ECCD
Dissemination of relevant national and international ECCD
policies, standards and lessons among staff and partners.
Raise resources for ECCD programming through proposal
writing and forming of in country partnerships to reach more vulnerable
children and their families
Ensure close integration of ECCD with all other relevant
sector programmes ( Child protection, health, nutrition and WASH etc) including
the mainstreaming of gender
Skills specific to the post
Good
analytical skills and understanding of ECCD (or key component of it)
Good networking
and partnership skills
Ability to
work under pressure and do multitasks
Excellent
communication -verbal and writing skills of English Good skills in proposal
development and reporting
Experience
A Bachelor
Degree in a subject related to Early Childhood Care and Development, Education,
development studies or related fields
Minimum of
5 years relevant working experience in community development or similar
position.
Working
experience in a similar role and experience in working with bilateral organizations
or INGOs would be an added advantage. '
Excellent
reporting skills and competencies in computer literacy (M-Excel, MS-Word, &
Power Point, internet)
2. DATA ENTRY CLERK (1 POSITION GEITA)
Job Purpose: To maintain required records, peruse
sponsorship communications and enter data within required corporate standards.
This will ensure production and quality standards are met for continuous
relationship between National Offices and Plan Tanzania.
Job requirement:
To ensure that all sponsorship communication items presented
by the are accurately processed into the system before close of the month
To ensure at least 50 questionnaires are successfully
entered into ChildData system every working day to ensure efficiency
To ensure all incoming communication, including gifts are
processed in the system within agreed time of receipt arid are then dispatched
to the Community Development Facilitators .
To ensure all outgoing communication is processed in the
system after quality checks and either corporate requirement regarding photos
and appropriate communications as per the Sponsorship Book
To ensure ChildData system is utilized as per ChildData user
guideline~ and Sponsorship Book procedures, this regarding access, uploading,
extracts processing and use of admin utility
Prepare To Do List with their respective working materials
such as incoming and distribution list
Prepare communication items for dispatch to National Offices
Maintain and update SC files
Prepare status reports on communication production and
submit to SCA at the end of each week and month
Educational Qualification and Experience
Degree in the areas of Public or Business Administration,
Marketing, Public Relations
1-2 years' working experience in the related field. ,
Good knowledge and experience with computer applications and
internet
Skills Specific to the Post
Fluent in written and oral English and Swahili
Good analytical, listening and communication skills
CHILD PROTECTION
Plan Tanzania is a child centered organization. Protecting
the rights of the children is of paramount interest to us. Subsequently, all
short listed candidates will undergo a police vetting check for criminal
offences particularly relating to any type of child abuse. The successful candidate
will be required to sign and adhere to the Plan Tanzania child protection
policy.
REMUNERATION
The above positions carry attractive remuneration as per
Plan Tanzania salary structure and incentive package.
