Proposal Summary:
The anticipated project will focus on providing technical assistance to the USAID Middle East Bureau with the aim of enhancing its ability to better understand and address Democracy and Governance and Peace and Security (DGPS) issues related to conflict and violent extremism in Middle East and North Africa. Specifically, the project will focus on engaging local institutions to address conflict and violent extremism in these regions.

Position Summary:
The field program representative will manage the program activities in Morocco, the Maghreb region and as needed elsewhere in the MENA region. He/She will be responsible for overseeing pilot activities, monitoring and evaluation on pilot activities and knowledge dissemination regarding the pilot activities in the region, including assisting the Project Manager in developing partnerships with local institutions, overseeing the provision of small grants to communities and advocating for improving access to justice for at-risk populations. The anticipated duration of the activities is three to five years.

Qualifications:
- An
advanced degree in international security, public administration, and/or
related areas; or at least four years of commensurate additional work
experience.
- At
least eight years relevant experience working with conflict and/or
countering violent extremism in an international setting with experience
with strategic planning and program management
- At
least three years of managerial experience.
- Strong
analytical, communication, organizational, writing, and interpersonal
skills.
- Strong
understanding of the political and social context in the region.
- Fluency
in spoken and written French required; proficiency in written and spoken
Arabic is strongly preferred.
