The anticipated four-year, USAID-funded program will support the development of four to six Career Centers in public higher education institutions and Regional Vocational Education offices. The Career Centers will empower target youth to access a range of resources to improve their job-seeking skills, learn about career opportunities, and learn about themselves as future professionals. In addition, by integrating knowledge of market needs and trends, the Career Centers will be equipped with the insight and influence to help academic decision-makers align and refine educational curriculums to meet the needs of the Moroccan economy.

Position Summary:
The Career Development Specialist will work hand and hand with locally-hired Career Services Managers and the Chief of Party to establish the Centers and implement programming. This is a full-time position based in Rabat, Morocco.

Responsibilities:
- Assist
in the design, organization, and implementation of successful, customized
Career Service Centers (2-3 with higher education systems and 2-3 in
vocational training institutes), and share best international practices.
- Design,
organize, and deliver trainings and coaching to Career Service Managers
and staff.
- Implement
a robust training and coaching program in career development principles
with a strong focus on achieving Employability for the youth.
- Contribute
to ongoing program evaluation, enhancement and/or new initiatives.
- Contribute
to analysis of performance management and employment related project
policies, including tracking employment of Center beneficiaries.
- Link-up
with private sector and recruitment firms to continuously stay abreast of
employer needs
Qualifications:
- Advanced
degree in organizational development, education, counseling and guidance,
or related field.
- At
least 5 – 10 years of experience engaging the private sector and
educational institutions to collaborate on employment and employability
programs; preferably including Morocco and the MENA region.
- Experience
in human resource development, recruitment, and related career development
concepts.
- Excellent
knowledge of Morocco’s higher education and vocational education systems.
- Experience
as a team member or consultant designing and implementing similar
projects, workforce development projects, or employability projects in a
developing, or transitioning country. This should include experience in a
variety of labor market sectors.
- Strong
ability to collaborate and coordinate activities with multiple
stakeholders including government, education, business and individuals.
- Demonstrated
leadership, strategic thinking and planning, training, and presentation
skills.
- Proven
ability to advocate career development concepts.
- Excellent
communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to work under
pressure with limited guidance.
- Experience
with donor-funded programs, including development banks and/or USAID,
preferred.
- Fluent
English and business proficiency in French or Arabic.
