of Party in South Sudan.

Position Description:
FHI 360 is currently seeking a Project Manager/Deputy Chief
of Party (DCOP) for the anticipated USAID-funded South Sudan Youth Program. The
anticipated program will enhance security and reduce potential conflict by
providing second-chance opportunities for out-of-school youth. The objective is
to engage youth and empower them to enhance their livelihoods, literacy, life
skills, learning, and leadership skills to reduce conflict and improve
stability.
Under the supervision of the COP, the DCOP will assist
the COP with all responsibilities and coordinate all activities. S/he will also
assist with the development of the vision, strategy, and technical direction of
the entire project. S/he will be responsible for the oversight of financial
management, project accounting systems, and grants management. S/he will also
have a strong technical background on youth programming in the areas of livelihoods,
literacy, life skills, learning and leadership skills to reduce conflict and
improve stability. The DCOP’s responsibilities will also include the
implementation of the strategy agreed with USAID and its monitoring, including:
management of deadlines; drafting of all reports required by the contract;
maintenance of records; monitoring achievement of benchmarks in the contract.
The DCOP will assist the Chief of Party in creating and maintaining good
working relationships with USAID, government counterparts, local organizations,
and program partners.
This position will be based in Juba, South Sudan and is
contingent upon receipt of award and funder approval of key personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's
degree or higher in a relevant field strongly preferred;
- Proven
record of excellent management, leadership, and decision-making skills;
- At
least 7 years of senior level experience designing, managing, and
implementing large, complex development projects preferably in Africa;
- Experience
managing USAID projects with sub-grants components highly preferred;
- At
least 5 years senior level experience in youth programming in the
areas of livelihoods, literacy, life skills, learning and leadership
skills to reduce conflict and improve stability.;
- Experience
living and working in Africa preferred;
- Familiarity
with USAID programming, rules and regulations;
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills in English;
- South
