Founded in 2002, by President William J. Clinton, the
Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization
committed to strengthening integrated health systems around the world and
expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other
illnesses. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can
facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to
mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save
lives, via improved organization of commodity markets and more effective local
management. By working in association with governments and other NGO partners,
CHAI is focused on large scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower
pricing agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In
addition, CHAI’s teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to
tackle many of the largest barriers to effective treatment and care.
The CHAI Rwanda program is seeking a highly motivated,
flexible individual to provide technical support to the Rwandan Ministry of
Health (MoH) in its effort to prioritize strategic health interventions. The
candidate will work the leadership and technicians of the Rwanda Biomedical
Center (RBC), a unit of the Ministry of Health (MoH). To do so successfully,
candidates must have excellent communications skills and cultural sensitivity,
and be a team player. They must exhibit a passion for results and commitment to

Responsibilities:
- Support
the development of an unified, sector wide, methodology for the
prioritization and costing of strategic interventions;
- Assist
on the implementation of that methodology for the prioritization and
costing of RBC’s strategic interventions plans;
- Support
the customization of a tool that will support the implementation of the
methodology;
- Build
the capacity of RBC staff on the application of the methodology and
utilization of the tool;
- Perform
other work on an as needed based (e.g. assist on proof reading of
documents, or assist in writing news articles);
- Participate
in relevant workshops and meetings with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's
degree, preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics, or public
health;
- 3
years minimum experience in the fields of policy implementation and/or
analytics
- Analytical
skills on optimization of resources allocation;
- Exceptional
diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships;
- Ability
to deliver in high-pressure situations with minimal supervision;
- Prior
experience in building capacity of government officials a plus;
- Fluency
in English;
- French
and/or Kinyarwanda fluency a plus.
