Description
The Mission of Global Communities (formerly CHF
International) is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low-
and moderate-income communities around the world helping them improve their
social, economic, and environmental conditions.
Global Communities is seeking Program Director candidates for
an anticipated agricultural and livelihoods development program in the
Democratic Republic of Congo that will increase agricultural production and
provide income generating activities for vulnerable households.
The Program Director will provide the
overall management and general technical direction of the program, liaise with
the donor and other partners, and coordinate with Global Communities/HQ. The
Program Director will be responsible for progress towards planned milestones
and targets and will identify issues and risks related to program
implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Agriculture, International Development, or related field;
- A minimum of 7 years of prior experience in a field capacity, designing, implementing, and managing livelihoods development, agricultural value chain and/or rural development projects for USAID, USDA, the World Bank and/or other donors;
- Demonstrated experience with assisting smallholder farmers to sustainably increase production and/or with diversifying livelihoods through non-agricultural income generating activities highly desired;
- Demonstrated success working with the private sector, government stakeholders and local organizations to achieve improvements in incomes, productivity, or job creation;
- Ability to represent Global Communities to donors, the host government and community stakeholders;
- Proven experience managing budgets and achieving work-plan deliverables;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in English and French required.
