JOB TITLE: Project and Technical Experts –
Somalia Transition Initiatives for Stabilization Plus (TIS+)
LOCATION: Positions are expected to be based in
Kenya, Somalia, Puntland and Somaliland.
SUMMARY: Relief International is currently
seeking project and technical experts for the anticipated USAID-funded
Transition Initiatives for Stabilization Plus (TIS+) project in Somalia. The
goal of the project will be to increase Somalia’s stability through
participatory processes that promote good governance and community cohesion.
The positions are contingent upon award of funds. We seek experts with
experience in the following areas: community-driven development, project
management, economic development, monitoring and evaluation, peace building,
communications, gender, grants management, and communications, learning and
knowledge management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide
specific technical or project management expertise to the program;
- Ensure
deliverables are met on time and within budget;
- Represent
the program to key stakeholders within the community and government;
- Coordinate
program activities with partners;
- Prepare
monthly and quarterly reports.
Qualifications:
- At
least five years of experience in implementing donor-funded programs in
community stabilization in one or more of the following areas:
community-driven development, economic development, governance, or peace
building/conflict mitigation.
- Prior
USAID experience preferred;
- Prior
experience in Somalia or region;
- Demonstrated
experience working cooperatively with a variety of local stakeholders,
other projects and international agencies;
- Bachelor’s
degree in relevant field required;
- Fluency
in English required (written and oral). Proficiency in Somali local
language(s) preferred.
